
Kelly Nusz
Co-host and producer of Butter Pecan Pod. She moved to Louisville from New Haven, KY with her family when she was eight. Her father owned a funeral home in the Highlands neighborhood where she held her first job cleaning up after funerals, moving flower arrangements, and dusting caskets. She started writing poetry at the same time, and has been a writer ever since. Her poetry and essays have been published in Cavalcade, Underwired, and the Indiana University Southeast newsletter. She is currently in the editing process of her first novel and manages her poetry page FlashPoems.
She earned a B.A. from Indiana University with a focus in Creative Writing. She paired her love of writing with lots of history classes, including serving as a teaching assistant for World History. She later earned a Master’s in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Murray State University. She has taught EFL in Louisville, Murray, and Washington, D.C.

Darryl Goodner
Co-host and producer of Butter Pecan Pod. Born in the Sandy Springs neighborhood of Atlanta, he moved to Louisville, KY with his family when he was five. Growing up in the West and East ends of town, he discovered his love of cooking from his dad and aunt. He refined his cooking skills working in several local kitchens while attending high school. He went on to work in Jefferson County Public Schools as a teaching assistant for students with special needs, as well as a library assistant.
He has co-owned his ice cream business Louisville Cream since 2014. He creates the ice cream, mixes the flavors, and invents the delicious specials showcased in the scoop shop. His business has been featured in the Courier-Journal, Southern Living, Cast Iron, and Forbes. He is a member of the NuLu Business Association.
